WATER STORAGE TANKS

We press our panels from mild steel plates of either imperial size (1.22 meter x1.22 meter) of the desired thickness or metric size (1 meter by 1 meter) of the desired thickness. The tanks can either be Elevated Water Tanks are mainly mounted on high places such as towers and Ground-level Water Tanks mounted on bearers on the ground. The treatment of the steel is majorly of two types: – Galvanized – the process of applying a protective zinc coating to steel or iron, to prevent rusting. The most common method is hot-dip galvanizing, in which the parts are submerged in a bath of molten hot zinc.

Painted – Outside walls of the Tank: We apply Grey primer as a non-rust paint on then apply a coat of silver aluminium paint for aesthetic purpose. Inside Walls of the Tank: MCL applies a coat of black bituminous paint that is food grade to ensure the steel does not rust when in contact with water and that the water can be consumed.

WHY STEEL TANKS

While steel water tanks are more expensive than plastic tanks, they have a much higher capacity and are far more durable than plastic tanks.

THE ADVANTAGES

Some of the advantages include; – High Capacity Storage can hold up to 50 million litres of water, Highly Durable – lasting approximately to 50+ years, due to their resistance to environmental pressures like extreme temperatures and fires. Appealing – For agricultural, commercial or industrial use. More hygienic choice especially where water is stored for purposes like drinking or bathing and Greater versatility to customise tank sizes according to client requirements and site specifications. In summary, steel tanks are great for all uses including domestic and office use, however, budget-wise they are more expensive. For agricultural, commercial or industrial use, larger water tanks are far more suitable, making steel the far better choice.

FUEL TANKS

Also called Petrol tank or Gas Tank is a safe container for flammable fluids. MCL mainly deals with two types.
1. Underground Fuel Tanks – Mainly used in Petrol Stations to store fuel.
2. Petroleum Tank Trailers – Tank truck trailers are used to transport liquids and gas in large volumes. The trailers come in different models because of the wide variety of liquefied loads. The internal structure also varies depending on the type of liquid or gas that the trailers are designed to transport. The tanks may be pressure or non-pressurized and insulated or non-insulated.

Type of Material Used is mainly Mild Steel. The Advantages of this include:-
• Steel has high strength and is not damaged easily.
• The price of steel is competitive and hence steel is popular in developing countries
• Carbon steel is easy to weld
• Steel is less prone to stress crack, which is common with aluminium
• The stainless steel is resistant to rust, can be used to transport edibles
